About the image converter
The image is decoded and re-encoded locally with a preview, dimensions and estimated output size. Animated frames and unsupported colour profiles may be flattened.
How to use it
- Choose the local image — it is decoded in your browser, not uploaded.
- Pick the output format: PNG, JPEG or WebP.
- Check the preview, dimensions and estimated output size.
- Download the converted file; the original is untouched.
Useful for
- Convert a JPEG to PNG when you need transparency support or lossless edits.
- Turn heavy PNG screenshots into WebP before they go on a page.
- Match a platform’s required upload format without installing an editor.

Image Converter FAQ
Which format should I choose for the web?
WebP for most page images (smallest at comparable quality), PNG when you need transparency or exact pixels, JPEG for maximum compatibility with photographic content.
Why did my animated image come out as a single frame?
Canvas re-encoding flattens animation to the first frame — the page warns about this rather than pretending. Animated conversions need a dedicated encoder.
