Palindrome Checker FAQ
Is “A man, a plan, a canal: Panama” really a palindrome?
Under the classic convention, yes — letters only, case-blind, punctuation invisible. Character-strict palindromes (noon, level) pass both tests; the page shows both so every argument has its ruling.
Longest known palindromes?
Word-level: “Was it a car or a cat I saw?” territory; constructed letter-level ones run thousands of words and read like fever dreams. Quality and length trade off steeply.
