About the plain text difference checker
The browser computes a readable bounded diff without uploading drafts. Whitespace can remain significant or be ignored for review.
How to use it
- Paste the original and the revised text.
- Pick line or word granularity — word-level shines for prose edits.
- Read the highlighted insertions and removals.
- Decide with evidence, not memory, which changes to keep.
Useful for
- See exactly what changed between two drafts of an article, contract or product description.
- Check what an editor or AI rewrite actually altered before accepting it.
- Compare two versions of boilerplate to find the clause that differs.

Plain Text Difference Checker FAQ
Line or word granularity — which should I use?
Word-level for prose, where a one-word edit shouldn’t light up a whole paragraph; line-level for lists and structured text, where lines are the natural unit.
Are my drafts uploaded to be compared?
No — the diff runs in your browser, which matters when the drafts are contracts or unpublished work. That is the point of doing it locally.
