How is fairness guaranteed?
Cryptographic shuffle then round-robin dealing — every assignment equally likely, sizes maximally even. The algorithm is stated so the losing captain argues with mathematics, not you.
Can I keep certain people together/apart?
Not here — constraints turn a shuffle into a matching problem and an argument into a committee. Run again until fate cooperates, or edit by hand and own it.
