About the uuid generator
The tool uses crypto.randomUUID when available with a Web Crypto fallback and can produce a bounded batch for test data.
How to use it
- Set the batch size — one for a quick grab, up to 1,000 for fixtures.
- Pick lowercase or uppercase.
- Generate; the browser’s cryptographic randomness produces standards-shaped v4 values.
- Copy the list. Nothing is stored, so save what you need.
Useful for
- Grab a UUID for a config file, database row or API test.
- Generate a batch of identifiers for seed or fixture data.
- Get a collision-safe id without wiring up a library for a one-off.

UUID Generator FAQ
Can two generated UUIDs collide?
A v4 UUID carries 122 random bits: you could generate a billion per second for decades before a duplicate becomes likely. For any practical purpose, treat them as unique.
What is a UUID v4, versus the other versions?
v4 is purely random — no timestamp, no machine identifier, nothing to leak. Other versions encode time or namespaces for special needs; when someone just says “give it a UUID”, v4 is almost always what they mean.
