What this tool does
About the random name picker
Trim, deduplicate and optionally remove winners between draws. A visible audit view shows the cleaned pool and draw settings.
How to use it
- Paste the entries, one per line — duplicates and blank lines are cleaned up and the cleaned pool is shown.
- Choose how many to draw and whether winners leave the pool between draws.
- Draw, using cryptographic browser randomness.
- Screenshot the audit view if the draw needs to be seen to be fair.
Useful for
- Draw a giveaway or raffle winner from a list of entrants, defensibly.
- Pick who presents first, reviews the PR or makes the tea.
- Assign people to slots in a random, arguable-with-nobody order.

Random Name Picker FAQ
Is the draw genuinely fair?
Every entry in the cleaned pool has an identical chance, driven by crypto.getRandomValues rather than a biased shortcut. The audit view shows the exact pool and settings used, which is what makes the result defensible.
Someone entered twice — do they get double odds?
Not if deduplication is on: the cleaned pool is displayed before the draw, so everyone can see exactly who is in and once each. If double entries are legitimately allowed, turn dedupe off — deliberately.
