What this tool does
About the mailto link generator
Handles the encoding that hand-written mailto links always get wrong, and prints the ready HTML.
How to use it
- Enter the recipient(s) and any prefills.
- Copy the link or the ready HTML anchor.
- Test in your own client — prefills are suggestions the sender can edit.
- Keep bodies short; some clients truncate very long mailto payloads.
Useful for
- Add an email button whose subject and body arrive pre-filled.
- Encode line breaks and special characters properly for once.
- Route feedback with a structured prefilled template.

Mailto Link Generator FAQ
Why do hand-written mailto links break?
Spaces, ampersands, question marks and line breaks all collide with URL syntax unless percent-encoded — the classic broken case being everything after an unencoded ampersand silently vanishing. The generator encodes every field correctly by construction.
Will spam bots harvest the address?
Any address in public HTML is harvestable, mailto or not. For public pages, weigh a contact form; where you do want one-click email, at least the link will be built properly.
