Heart Emoji FAQ
Do the heart colours mean different things?
By convention, yes: red for love, yellow for friendship, black for dark humour or grief, purple with its own internet culture entirely. None of it is official — but your reader may know the conventions, so the names here help you choose deliberately.
Why does it look different on my friend’s phone?
Every platform draws Unicode characters with its own fonts, so the same character can look subtly (or wildly) different between devices. The character you copy is identical everywhere; only the drawing changes.
